But belly fat isn’t just a problem fir the way it looks, there are also serious health implications associated with fat around the stomach.
The excess abdominal fat can surround the organs in your stomach, which is liked to heart disease and Type-2 diabetes.
So weight loss can be good for the way you feel as well as your overall health.
There is no one-trick solution to losing belly fat, but there are certainly things that can help.
NHS weight loss and health consultant surgeon Dr Sally Norton has shared three tips with Daily Star Online, which can help slash belly fat fast.
How to lose belly fat:
1. Take a breath
Dr Sally, author of VavistaLife, recommends setting aside five minutes for deep breathing, or even better, meditation.
She says this can “help reduce the stress hormone cortisol which contributes to belly fat”.
2. Sleep well
In addition, the weight loss experts says getting a good nights’ sleep can help combat fat.
She said getting a good eight hours will “reduce the tendency to snack on high fat and sugar foods the next day to replace energy”.
Getting enough z’s can save you around 300 calories, according to Dr Sally.
3. Limit your eating window
The 16:8 intermittent-fasting method has skyrocketed in popularity in recent times.
Dr Sally said: “Restricting your eating to 8 hours a day e. g. between 10 and 6 rather than snacking late into the evening and having an early breakfast has been shown to help weight loss”.
